LAWRENCE, Kansas (January 11, 2012) Bill Self’s Assists Foundation has awarded $15,000 to nonprofit organizations throughout the state of Kansas.
Organizations receiving grants of $3,000.00 each are Family Promise of Lawrence, the Ronald McDonald House of Topeka, the Lawrence Arts Center, Kaw Valley Young Life and Kids TLC of Olathe.
Established in 2006 to serve a variety of youth initiatives, Assists’ mission is to provide young people access to better lives. To date, the foundation has awarded more than $85,000 in grants to organizations throughout the state.
“We’ve been able to partner with some really great organizations. There are so many nonprofits around the state of Kansas that are working for positive change and we’re just fortunate to be a part of it,” said Erin Zimney, Executive Director of Assists.
The Assists Foundation also announced that the window for accepting spring 2012 grant applications will close on May 25th, 2012. The Assists Foundation accepts grants statewide for Kansas-based nonprofit organizations. Information and grant applications are available at www.assistyouth.org.
