The purpose of the Assists Alliance is to create an open forum of communication and action for agencies and organizations that share in the vision of Assists mission to provide young people access to better lives.
Since we launched the foundation we’ve had many friends contact us about their initiatives that aim to help the young people of our community,” Bill Self explains. ‘What we have learned is that most of these folks do not have an efficient way to at the table together and share the projects being pursued by their organizations. Our goal with the Alliance is to help eliminate the duplication of efforts and resources. This is especially important in our current economic climate.
Any non-profit organization that works to improve the lives of young people can become a part of the Assists Alliance. And, any corporation can become a part of the Assists Alliance by sponsoring a non-profit organization that works to improve the lives of young people. Individuals can join the Alliance and will receive the benefits annotated with an asterisk.
The benefit to Assists of having an alliance with your organization and other non-profits is multifaceted. The benefits to your organization being a part of Assists are outlined below.
- Listed on Assists web site with a link to your agency
- Window sticker recognizing your affiliation*
- Invitation to annual Assists Alliance Think Tank meeting*
- Eligible for grant funding
- One Bill Self Basketball Camp or Holiday Clinic Scholarship
- Featured in one Assists Email campaign annually
